What is Remote Online Notarization?
Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows a signer to appear before a notary public via audio-video technology instead of in person. The notary witnesses the signature in real time, verifies identity through knowledge-based authentication and credential analysis, and applies a digital notarial seal. The entire session is recorded and archived for security.
Florida authorized RON in 2020, and SteadyFlow is equipped to handle these sessions fully. You can be located anywhere in the United States. We hold the Florida commission.
How a RON session works
Book and get the link
Schedule your session by phone, text, or email. We send you a secure session link in advance.
Identity verification
You complete a brief identity quiz and upload a photo of your government-issued ID. This satisfies Florida's RON requirements.
Live session and signing
You meet your notary on a secure video call, sign the document digitally, and receive your notarized document electronically.
What you need
- A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a working camera and microphone
- A stable internet connection
- Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID)
- Access to the document you need notarized (we can accept PDFs)
Is RON legally valid?
Yes. Florida Statute 117.021 authorizes remote online notarization. Documents notarized via RON carry the same legal weight as those notarized in person. Many states across the U.S. recognize Florida RON notarizations. If you have questions about acceptance in a specific state, contact us and we'll advise you.
